Top Hat: Person Under the Hat
"Fritz," shown at the left, was an affluent banker that lived in Northern France. His home was very stately, complete with five servants and a large backyard garden. His children never knew hunger, and were always blessed with the latest toys. His wife, as many affluent women did during the time, went on many social outings while the children were cared for by the nanny.
Due to their higher status, people who could afford top hats typically worked in more of an office environment rather than an industrial environment. "Fritz" was no exception, and was employed at one of the most respectable banks in his district.
